The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper University Hospital offers women of all ages a full range of advanced medical programs and services through all stages of a woman’s life.

Whether expecting a baby, dealing with infertility, experiencing a gynecological problem or facing a high-risk pregnancy and birth, women throughout South Jersey rely on Cooper’s highly skilled obstetricians and gynecologists for comprehensive, personalized care.

From the management of pregnancy and delivery, to the prevention, detection and treatment of disorders of the reproductive system, Cooper’s OB/GYN physicians, nurses and support personnel specialize in all areas of gynecological, maternal-fetal, reproductive, pelvic and sexual health.

Also, a full spectrum of Childbirth and Family Education programs – from childbirth preparation and breastfeeding classes to prenatal yoga and infant CPR –is available to help patients make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

As part of a major academic-medical center, Cooper’s OB/GYN department offers women and infants the widest array of clinical services available in South Jersey. Innovative diagnosis and treatment options, access to cutting-edge research and protocols, and an interdisciplinary approach to obstetric and gynecologic conditions are only a few of the important medical advantages that OB/GYN care at Cooper has to offer.

Further distinctions include:

• Cooper’s Division of Gynecologic Oncology is one of the largest programs of its kind in the tri-state area. The Division is distinguished with a board-approved GYN Oncology Fellowship Program.
• Cooper’s Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology) is one of the largest programs of its kind in the nation, distinguished with a board-approved Fellowship Program in Urogynecology. 
• Cooper’s Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility is among the top five in-vitro fertilization facilities in the nation. 
• Cooper’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a statewide resource for the management of high-risk pregnancy. 

In addition to providing patient care, Cooper’s OB/GYN physicians are faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-Camden campus. They also provide training for future OB/GYN specialists through medical residency and fellowship programs at Cooper University Hospital.

Many of Cooper’s OB/GYN physicians participate in research studies, giving patients with problems the opportunity to benefit from the newest procedures and medications.

All of Cooper’s OB/GYN sub-specialists are fellowship-trained, offering expert services and treatment options in vital areas of female, reproductive, and maternal-fetal health.
 
Also, Cooper is distinguished as a state-designated Regional Perinatal Center. The Center serves the region’s highest-risk patients in need of the most serious care. In fact, other area hospitals transport their high-risk perinatal patients to Cooper.

Gynecologic services are also available for pediatric patients. The service includes not only out-patient evaluations but also exams under anesthesia and pediatric gynecologic surgery.
