Internal Medicine DoctorCooper’s physicians of general internal medicine are primary-care physicians specially trained to prevent, diagnose, and treat illnesses and diseases that affect adults. 

It’s important for adults to have an internal medicine physician – your “own doctor” for primary care – who becomes familiar with and understands each patient’s overall health and medical history.

In addition to providing adult patients with primary care, Cooper’s internal medicine physicians coordinate the care their patients receive from other medical specialists to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems or to treat and manage complicated health issues.

Also called internists, Cooper’s internal medicine physicians help adults stay healthy with annual check-ups, early detection, unscheduled “sick” visits, health and medication monitoring, preventive health screenings, special health and wellness programs, and more.

Cooper’s internal medicine physicians also participate in caring for elderly and chronically ill patients in several long-term care and rehabilitation facilities located throughout South Jersey.

In addition to primary care, Cooper internal medicine physicians provide healthcare through multiple special programs and services, such as executive health programs, women’s health and wellness services and travel medicine services.

The Division of General Internal Medicine within Cooper’s Department of Medicine offers adults across the region an extensive network of highly skilled internists for primary care. As part of that network, Cooper’s more than 30 internal medicine physicians provide patients with university-level medical care at 10 convenient offices located throughout South Jersey.
