Erin Shipley joined Cooper University Health Care in 2021 with more than 25 years' health care experience as a registered nurse and executive coach for health care organizations in the United States and Canada. In her role, Ms. Shipley leads the global Consumer Experience across the Cooper University Health Care system, in addition to the responsibility for the daily management and coordination of Volunteer Services, Pastoral Care, Linguistics, and Welcome Desk. The “Cooper Experience” is defined as driving excellence for team members, providers, and patients and Ms. Shipley serves as a co-champion for the development, innovation, and implementation of long-range strategic plans, goals, and objectives that drive experience for all that we serve.
Prior to joining Cooper, Ms. Shipley was an executive coach for Huron Consulting Group, formerly Studer Group, where she has coached more than 150 health care organizations in their Consumer Experience and Team Member Engagement Strategies. Her background as an Emergency Department nurse and nurse leader in outpatient, ambulatory, and inpatient units strengthens her ability to cross all types of patient care settings to develop leaders and team members at all levels and tenure, to think creatively to eliminate interdepartmental barriers, creating an engaging place for employees to work, patients to receive care, and physicians to practice medicine. In addition to her role at Cooper, Ms. Shipley continues to serve as an international speaker.
Ms. Shipley obtained her baccalaureate degree in History and associates degree in Nursing from Louisiana State University and a Master's in Nursing focused on Leadership and Management. She maintains certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
