Dr. Mapp joined Cooper University Health Care in 2023. She provides operational oversight for the Women’s and Children’s Institute, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Child Life, Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care, Cleft Palate Clinic, and the Safe Kids Outreach Program as well as Respiratory, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Interventional Pulmonary.
Dr. Mapp has a vast background in obstetrics and pediatric critical care. She joined Cooper from Jefferson Health New Jersey where she successfully led the Women’s and Children’s Services department toward designation as a center of distinction in maternity care. She also facilitated the implementation of the Centering Pregnancy Program and a hospital-sponsored community doula program. Prior to Jefferson, Dr. Mapp was the Patient Care Director in Obstetrics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she championed patient experience and service excellence, and received the Nursing Leadership Award. She is a published author and has presented locally and nationally on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as well as nursing wellbeing and staffing.
In addition to her commitment to nursing leadership, Dr. Mapp volunteers her time as a domestic violence first responder in Burlington County and coordinates the annual Thanksgiving Community Brunch and Health Fair at her local church.
Dr. Mapp is an active member of several professional organizations and serves on the boards and committees of the Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Nurses Association. Dr. Mapp earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice - Executive Leadership from George Washington University; Master of Arts in Nursing Administration from Columbia University; and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loma Linda University. She is also board certified as a nurse executive-advanced.
