About Me

Prior to coming to Cooper as one of the founding members of the Department of Neurosurgery, Dr. Turtz was Chief of the Neurosurgical Service and Medical Director of the Neurosurgical Critical Care Unit at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has dedicated his career to the clinical care of patients and education of medical students and neurosurgical residents. He is a general neurosurgeon focused primarily on cranial surgery for tumors and trauma, and has decades of experience in intraventricular and anterior cranial base endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Turtz is like no other physician. He is our son's life saver! He talks directly with my son and shows compassion. When we arrived at the office he was also walking in and stopped my son and walked w/him and talked. Once we got to check in the receptionist noticed our apt. was scheduled incorrectly. Turtz noticed as well and came out to say put him on my schedule and we will make it work. The receptionist was very nice and pleasant and took care of it quickly! 10/10! These apts. and Dr. Turtz saved my sons life. We will forever be grateful.

Dr. Turtz was fabulous. He took his time and explained everything and was thorough with all of the information we discussed. He was kind and empathetic and knowledgeable. I would recommend him 1000%

Dr. Turtz were amazing to me during my visit. I am currently experiencing multiple health issues and physically and mentally going though a difficult time. During my visit I experienced a panic attack... 1st ever and everyone went above and beyond my wildest expectations. I truly feel that it was meant for me to have this occur there... If it wasn't for his calmness and immediate attention to me I don't know what would have happened. I would refer this physician and staff to all! I was truly blessed to be receiving his care during this difficult time and during such a traumatic event.

This was a video meeting with Dr. Turtz. Meeting was scheduled for 1:00pm. I was online 15 minutes early as to the instructions. Waiting an hour and a half before disconnecting. Got a phone call that Dr. Turtz was ready around 2:30. Meeting went flawlessly and Dr. Turtz is an excellent doctor with a great "bedside" manner.
