Awards and Achievements

Cooper University Health Care participates in the federal government's National Disaster Medical System (NDMS). The NDMS plays a critical role in ensuring a coordinated and effective medical response during national disasters and emergencies, mobilizing resources and personnel to assist impacted communities.
In 2023, Cooper University Health Care became a member of the Radiation Injury Treatment Network (RITN), a national network of medical centers with expertise in managing bone marrow failure from a distant large scale nuclear incident. Our Center was awarded a $28,000 RITN grant.
In 2023, our Center was awarded $24,263 from the Port Security Grant Program to enhance Cooper University Health Care's disaster preparedness around our local ports.
In 2023, at the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) in Killarney, Ireland, Simon Sarkisian presented a poster entitled "Current Disaster Triage Methods in Mass Casualty Incidents"
