Interventional radiologists use advanced imaging (ultrasounds, X-rays, CAT scans, MRI scans, and other innovative methods) to see inside the body and treat complex conditions – including cardiovascular disease and cancer – less invasively and with unprecedented precision. Interventional radiology can be used to treat conditions in virtually all of the body’s organ systems, including:
- Digestive organs – stomach, intestines, and liver
- Nerve tissues – spinal cord and brain
- Chest cavity – lungs and respiratory system
- Heart and vascular system – arteries, veins, and blood vessels
- Musculoskeletal system – spine, bones, and joints
- Genital and urinary organs – testes, uterus, and kidneys
- Other tissues and organs
Our interventional radiologists work both independently and in collaboration with other Cooper health care professionals and medical and surgical specialists. From initial consultation to follow-up care, Cooper Interventional Radiology is an integral part of your health care team.
