Cryoablation is a minimally invasive procedure that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy abnormal cells in the esophagus – the tube that carries food and liquids from the throat and down into the stomach.
Cryosurgery uses sub-zero temperatures to freeze and destroy tumors. The tumor is not removed and the destroyed cancer is left to be reabsorbed by the body.
Cystectomy is surgery to remove all or part of the bladder. The procedure may be “partial” in which only the part of the bladder with the cancer is removed, “simple” in which the entire bladder is removed, or “radical” in which the entire bladder plus other organs in the area that also have cancer are removed.
