About Me

As an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements, including the anterior hip approach, I strive to help patients get back to the activities that they enjoy most. Although joint replacement surgery may be the ultimate solution to arthritis for many patients, there are often non-operative treatments that can provide relief and improve quality of life. I enjoy getting to know my patients so that I can understand how arthritis affects their lives and so that we can discuss what treatment option best fits their individual goals.

I earned my medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and completed fellowship training in adult reconstruction at Scripps Clinic. I am currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

During my time away from the hospital, I enjoy playing golf, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Brown reviewed the condition of my hip, and thoroughly explained to me the different options available to me on how to proceed forward. After explaining my previous situation with my left hip and it's replacement, I was encouraged by our discussion on the possibility of moving forward with a hip replacement on this right hip.We covered all my options, and I feel this is the best for me, but this time in my life.

Dr. Brown is amazing! After my knee injection I started to feel light headed. Dr. Brown noticed this and immediately asked if I was okay and offered to get me water. He didn't know where the water fountain was, so he asked the staff members in the office. He went and got the cup of water himself for me.
