At Cooper, our dedicated nurses are the foundation of our commitment to exceptional care. As South Jersey’s leading academic health system and only Level I Trauma Center, we deliver compassionate care across the continuum. With a vast geographic reach encompassing urban and suburban settings, Cooper offers a diverse and enriching environment for professional nursing practice.
Our nurses are prepared to lead, teach, and learn from others. They play a pivotal role in delivering our mission: To serve, to heal, to educate. With opportunities to specialize in various clinical areas and pursue formal leadership roles, Cooper nurses experience continuous professional growth and fulfillment.
At Cooper, we are not just a Level I Trauma Center capable of handling the most complicated medical emergencies, we are also a hub for advanced stroke care, offering state-of-the-art treatments and procedures. Within our comprehensive facilities, Cooper boasts the esteemed MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, the only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in the Delaware Valley, three urgent care facilities, two ambulatory surgery centers, and more than 100 primary and specialty care outpatient offices. As a tertiary care facility, we provide highly specialized medical services and serve as a referral hub for patients in need of advanced treatments not available elsewhere.
From critical care to oncology, trauma to women's and children's health, our nurses encounter diverse patient populations and medical conditions, enriching their clinical experience. As part of an academic medical facility affiliated with multiple universities in the tri-state area, nurses also have access to structured educational programs and mentorship opportunities, further enhancing their practice.

Cooper Invests in Our Nurses
As an academic medical center, Cooper fosters a culture of learning and continuous professional development for all nurses.
All new-to-practice nurses are supported through our Nurse Residency Program.
We currently partner with several universities and colleges to provide our nurses with tuition discounts to supplement our generous tuition reimbursement program. Our collaborative partnerships with universities and colleges also provide continued learning and development opportunities to advance our nurses.
Nursing Professional Governance is a shared decision-making structure that gives nurses autonomy in defining and determining their practice. All nurses are encouraged to participate in professional governance to allow for collaboration and communication to drive quality patient and workforce outcomes.
